I don't know what to say. This is honestly so sad and it didn't need to be. The Last of Us is an masterpiece of storytelling. The Last of Us 2 is the antithesis of this. The first 10 hours are great, in my opinion. It's fun, exciting, the game-play is fantastic, the story - up to that point - is fantastic.
The story builds wonderfully to, what feels anyway, like a climax of the game. A confrontation that we - the gamer - have been waiting for and building to for 10 hours is here. It is there that the game makes a baffling decision from a game-play and narrative standpoint that made the game near unplayable to me. I was bored, uninterested, unmotivated to finish but pushed through it anyway in hopes of a satisfying ending that didn't exist.
Huge disappointment and the biggest let down I've had in a franchise since Game of Thrones.
