Honestly couldn’t be let more down by a book in my life. The After Series was amazing. The ending of the last book DEFINITELY could’ve been better and I was kind of also let down by that. I believe that Anna was getting so swooped up into them making an actual movie about After that she rushed the ending of the series which I guess happens but still upsetting. But Before was definitely a let down. I was expecting everything from Hardin’s perspective on his life from the beginning when he lived back in London. I wanted to hear about him and Natalie and what fights he got into with his mother about Natalie, the parties that he went to, and everything else while being back in London. Why he got into books, why did he just give up on his mom and everything. Mind you, yes we did learn about quite a bit of this in the series but if she was making a whole goddamn book about him and his life. This book was legit a carbon copy of the first book of After in his perspective. The only good thing that was in this book was just the fact that you learn about Steph, Molly, Zed, and a few other characters back stories and how they moved on After Harry and Tessa both left and moved on with their lives. Which was great. But this whole book was just Harry’s perspective in the first book of After. Personally I think it was a bit of false advertisement and a money cop from the fandom. I genuinely was not impressed with this book and I’d tell anyone who wanted to read it to just read the actual after series and keep it that way, because they were amazing and there isn’t a need to read about Harry’s perspective on the same book.
