The critics are off on this one. It was REALLY REALLY GOOD. I had just finished the book and recognized much of the excellent dialogue taken verbatim from it. The secondary plot line with Soo Lin was dropped, which strengthened the true main message: People and relationships are complicated, but love perseveres. I was moved to tears at the climax, as were the others (men and women) in our party. Go see it on the big screen to fully appreciate the gorgeous landscapes.
