It has been fun so far, but honestly it feels like a joke. Like some sort of half-heartedly performed song and dance we have all heard before. Similar story elements are there, the battles are a chore, not a challenge (It's possible to one shot dynamax pokemon that gym leaders have without being grossly overleveled and dynamaxed) and honestly the most refreshing part is the camping, which is the optional minigame. Half the dex is gone, more or less, the graphics are sub par, both in and out of battle, it lacks any real challenge, you can't catch pokemon above a certain level because of a level related cap meaning that the cool pokemon that you fight tooth and nail to even try to catch are only good for some exp, not themselves. The customization is nice, and again the nintendog esque curry camp is fun but nothing else is really that great. Admittedly you can skip certain tutorials, but you are still forced to go along with an uninteresting story and all the tedious cutscene(unless you wisely decide to turn them off which is a bad sign when you are trying to make a story driven rpg.) Pokemon pop out of no-where and the trees look over a decade old, don't buy this game unless you want to laugh at it or make up yor own story as you go along. Up to you though.
