Very good start, i must say.
Netflix invested very little budget in this pilot season and the makers did very good job in using such small budget.
They did not choose first class super stars or even 2nd class, however they carefully picked the (not very famous) actors and they (the actors) did very good job in portraying the written characters, they also invested more in drama, cinematography and music, rather than investing on visual effects or cgi, which was a good decision to make within the limited budget.
They story line was carefully written and the all scenes was packed with symbolism and easter eggs related to the original novels or even religious symbolism, like the use of the famous trilogy of (man, woman, devil) that was beautifully portrayed in episode 3 reflecting how the devil toke Adam and Eve out from heaven and casted them to the desert, also the famous Islamic saying everytime man and woman got together in one place the devil will be their third.
The overall arc of the series is cleverly made, although that this is a big drift from the original storyline.
Really beautiful.
Waiting for season two, hopefully with much bigger budget this time.
There is along way yet to go as the original novels has 81 episodes not only 6. In which the fight between the Man and the Devil will take so many levels, the writer Dr. Tawfiq, choose our hero to look very normal or even less than normal person to point out that this is the usual human being fighting the devil in his temporary life on this earth.
