I knew that this version was supposed to be light-hearted and comical, but this just did not work for me. I grew up reading comics and even remember the original Shazam TV show. This was very disappointing, as have been so many DC live action movies of late, with the exceptions of Wonder woman and Aquaman. I really didn't expect much of this movie, and I feel like I just Lost 2 hours of my life that I will never get back.
