I read this book sometime in 2018 when I was doing my masters in Nsukka. It's a sad gripping story, and one I found with the likelihood of being repeated. And as long as the book lasted, I had had to ask myself what the outcome of the coming war be like? Nigeria is tacitly at a war at the moment. The minorities across the country are dissatisfied with the way the affairs of Nigeria is run. There's an unwritten war waged against them. If a civil war breaks out in Nigeria once again, it would be brutal and certainly fought on different fronts unlike what happened during the Biafran war. That also would probably Balkanize the country with grave war crimes the scale of which has never been witnessed. I genuinely hope Nigeria will escape this impending dangerous fate.
