As a teacher and a mother I feel I need to voice my support for the principal in the defamation case. Parents need to be reminded that we only teach because we are passionate about supporting their children to become successful adults, despite being abused often for our professional decisions and consistently having to deal with difficult parents who have been given the OK to dictate our every move. This is not OK and has a tremendous effect on our mental health and home life. We are human beings who need to make quick decisions many, many times a day in order to keep every child safe. We need to consider their social, emotional and cognitive needs every second of the day, usually in an exhausted state due to the unreasonable work load. As a parent I understand the need to ensure your child is in good hands and this is respected and problem-solved to the best of the teaching staffs abilities. Educators are becoming more and more stressed and suffering from anxiety as we are put in an impossible postion of pleasing everyone. Respectfully voice your opinions to your child's educator and you will be listened to do but you have no right to attack them for doing their job to the best of their ability. Thankyou for making a stand against this bullying. Someone had to do it!
