It doesn't crack the top tier of superhero movies for sure. First half of the movie was just filled with too montages and made me press the FWD button (skip 10 seconds) a few too many times. It just took so long for the movie to get going. It was nice to get all the back stories but I suppose that's why movies are edited and parts that drag on are cut. The movie attempted to fit 3 origin stories in the first half, and I can't believe anyone thought that to be a good idea. Only the die hard fans of the franchise could have appreciated those parts. Still, I do believe it was an improvement simply because it had a singular vision from beginning to end as opposed to the theatrical version. I can certainly see why studio panicked and asked Josh Whedon to make so many changes to it. The climax though was better and the overall story felt more fluid. Still, this wasn't worth all the hype. The fans that made this happen will surely enjoy this film, but I doubt anyone else will. 3/5
