A true masterpiece of Science Fiction planting the idea firmly in you head that we may well be in the Matrix already. Is it prophetic? Is it nonsense? We will never really know but like all great Sci Fi it makes you look at the world in a different way and the ideas stay with you forever. The later films, although decent, never quite captured the sheer brilliance and iconic feel of the first, the script is so sharp, the plot so original, the brooding dark humour from the agents who all look like the men from U.N.K.L.E. and of course the original special effects inventions such as bullet time which I believe was created for this movie. It is still a wonderful film and although the effects may have been bettered subsequently, the context that they are in still makes them believable and unlike may Sci Fi movies The Matrix hasn't dated because of that. I still watch it every so often and it just get's better everytime. Do you take the Red pill or the Blue pill?
