This is perhaps one of the best modern weird/horror fictions that I've read recently. A delicious blend of Lovecraft with King, The Fisherman never loses it's brilliant authorial voice, all thanks to Langlan's command over the form and control over the language. Concepts of cosmic horror combined with elements of dark folklores with an interesting framing device, this is a must read for everyone who loves a good story told in a remarkable way.
Rest assured, I'm not going to get near any water body for a couple of months now.
