If you knew very little of Diva Callas before hand, this film portrayed her as a very sad, pill-popping, washed-up opera singer who only lives in mourning of her once exciting and dramatic life. As her traumas take hold she sinks deeper and deeper into despair. I wish it had showed more. The friendships she had made, the light in her eyes. It should've told her story more in depth instead of this artsy, depressing presentation. Reminded me of the movie Capone with Tom Hardy, where the director completely wiped away their life and gave you their sad husk for you to interpret instead. It lacks foundation, leaving views slightly lost in the point of it all.
