Rei Kimura showcased the story in a very visual way. The scenarios of the Edo era has been portrayed well but not as vividly one would assume before reading it. The story puts homosexuality as a forbidden affair and the gradual process of the protagonists are rather cliche. But it has a gut wrenching effect of melancholy that unravels with the conclusive after effects of the story. Overall a good read.
