I read the book before watching the movie, and the movie has quite a few changes and isn't nearly as immersive or emotional as the book is. If you really wanna get into the story, definitely read the book. This is not to say the movie is bad, the actors are amazing and the music and cinematography. It might just bother me a lot that some details (and characters) were removed, but overall, if you don't plan on reading the book I'm sure you'll enjoy the movie.
