Sheer class. This movie was one of the defining movies for director Wolfgang Peterson. I also went through the making of this movie and discovered the length to which he went to create the submarine. It’s highly accurate depiction. This movie has inspired several other movies in this category primarily Matthew’s U-571. A must watch classic movie and a treat to movie buffs.

The story line is too bad. The action scenes are irrelevant and unjustified. A Netflix movie like Polar does a far better job than this one. Disappointed with Michael Bay and mainly with Ryan Reynolds
