Not my usual genre, but the acting and actors are superior, and kept me gripped in their various story lines. The second wife, the mute brother, the fragile man/boy who never got the psychological help he desperately needed, the friends as children, the young couple with plans to run away and be together, the murder of a beloved daughter, all of these themes were emotional, and kept the watcher on edge. A dark, frightening tragedy, where so many are stuck in their pain, but the outstanding cast makes one feel that these are real people who make mostly bad choices due to their troubled childhoods. And they could be people who lived down the street from you.
