As a New Yorker, Uncut Gems spoke to me, nothing about it seemed exaggerated (except — spoiler alert — the tattoo).
Uncut Gems can be described as “a week in hell” film. In a wild frenzy, this film follows the main character around Manhattan and Long Island as he wildly negotiates, gambles, and bets everything he has at stake.
Uncut Gems is well-paced with superb casting, stellar acting, and a compelling plot. The plot was so tight, wrapping up all lose ends so securely that you couldn’t get a bullet through it, although what happened to The Knicks ring?
Although Uncut Gems featured contemporary American basketball teams, the duration of sports-on-courts scenes was just enough to make the plot work.
Spoiler alert: the criminals in this film are so real, you can get anxiety and become fearful of your life when watching it!
After watching Uncut Gems, all I now want is a BLACK OPAL.
