I have to give this game a five star, because it’s undeniably one of the best games I’ve EVER played. DONT EVER listen to the haters. This game might have its bad sides, but there are bad sides to every game! Here’s a list to the pros and cons for me. Just to let you know (you’ll understand if you have played any call of duty before) I mainly play the search and destroy gamemode, because this is really fun and probably has the least amount of luck and largest amount of skill involved, and it clearly shows how balanced the maps (areas you fight in) are. Beginners probably shouldn’t start with search and destroy, I’d suggest a game mode where you respawn like team deathmatch.
Pros:
The graphics are probably the best out of the ENTIRE call of duty franchise.
The campaign is surprisingly long, has a wonderful story and suits every single level of player. It is also incredibly realistic not only in graphics, but it shows how, for example, the marines operate and the horrors of war.
Killstreaks in multiplayer are earned at a reasonable price.
The character choice features a very large variety of different operators, both evil and good. Also, unlike any other call of duty, there are humiliation moves you can perform after sneaking up behind an enemy, and they are really satisfying.
Personal preference: Unlike black ops 4, players will not glow red and stick out, you can easily remain concealed in this game, which is a benefit for all you ninjas out there. Some of this games operators have ghillie suits, allowing you to hide in the foliage around the maps and trust me, they LITERALLY don’t see you. I love ninja defusing.
Operators come separately from special abilities, giving players a choice between how they look and what field upgrade they can use.
I personally thought that dead silence was a bit overpowered as a perk, but it’s now a field upgrade.
A huge variety of different game modes
(You’ll know if you’ve played) ghost is now in the red perk slot with overkill.
The weapon customisation is UNREAL. I was amazed at just how great this was, and I could make the perfect gun for me. One of my favourite guns had a variety of 30 different optical sights that you could add to it. That’s right, 30, not forgetting all of the other foregrips, muzzle attachments and stuff. It’s is SO satisfying.
Cons:
Gun balancing isn’t too great in this game. I think it’s better than most previous call of dutys, but it still isn’t great. There will always be a king of a category, apart from the marksman rifles and sniper rifles. The rifle is the M4A1, the Smg the MP5, and worst of all, the 725 shot gun, often paired up with a riot shield which is the worst. At least it’s fun to kill these dudes. I wouldn’t mind if these guns weren’t used by what feels like every enemy I play against.
The team balancing system is quite bad in this game. My Kill/Death ratio is exactly 1, which, surprisingly places me in the top 8% of players in the game (the ratio type confirming this is the mode). Most of the time on search and destroy, my team isn’t great and the game expects me to carry them (which I often can’t) and the other team are all much better and overuse the best guns in the game. This mightn’t seem like a big deal but trust me, it gets to you.
