As a 20-something who grew up loving High School Musical, I thought I would find Zac charming and was excited for this show. I love travel and food shows, yet this is one of the worst I’ve seen because of Zac’s poor job hosting. He asks the most simple, irrelevant questions (when he’s not just staring off into space not listening to the people educating him). He also tends to make things about himself as does his co-host, Darin. They come across as privileged “bro” types who apparently cannot engage in meaningful conversation with interesting people of different cultures. Zac is an awkward host and it seems as if he is not very well traveled or doesn’t know how to interact with others outside his Hollywood bubble. It is also interesting how the actual making of the show itself is not eco-friendly and is very whitewashed. You would think they would have a diverse group of people (like in Costa Rica when they only spoke to Americans living there). They are also jetting around the globe (I’d love to know whether it was in a private jet) which is not environmentally conscious.
