Rebel Moon - Part Two IS a good movie.
Some say never to judge the audience for the failure of the movie, never to undermine the tastes and the intellect of the audience. But allow me to judge the audience for the failure of this series.
In the first movie, the audience are not interested about the roots of any war. Wars are fought for resources - agricultural and mineral. They complained why Jack Snyder wasted more than 1/2 hour showing the village council debating, tilling of the land, how a self-sufficient village lives where all contribute by farming, how armies trade food grains for protection. Lately in all the sci-fi films, the world-building doesn't show the roots of any civilization - farming!
I appreciated this movie - all the main characters sweat to harvest the yield. "No Sir, we don't want to see that. We want goofy sidekicks, silly robots like R2D2, flowery romance, some background to protagonists for which we can sympathise, in a war about bloody revolution." For the above, we have already Star Wars the first trilogy! (Star Wars 3rd trilogy was made for pure nostalgic purpose. The 2nd trilogy didn't fare well for the same reasons).
I stand with Zack Snyder and very much hope to see the next films in this franchise.
