Well that was painful. I was excited when I heard they were, at last, producing a period accurate version of WOTW. The only feeling I have now is that the BBC owe me three hours of my life back. As if changing the story beyond any recognition wasn’t enough, they replaced all the original good stuff from the novel with incomprehensible wanderings so badly written and paced that the main characters had to slap you in the face with dire monologueS just in case we missed the subtler parallels painted into H.G. Wells book. Just awful.
