Whatever you do, do not buy this piece of rubbish. Where do we start? The gameplay is absolutely shocking, to the point where the AI will decide what to do for you. For example, it is now standard for a player to be tackled 3 to 4 times, and still have the ball. In short, you have about as much control as a passenger on the Underground. Scoring headers is now nigh-impossible, to the point where a player with 99 heading accuracy will regularly miss an empty net from 2 yards out. Playing a non lagging game online is now a thing of legend. In fact, every time a promo has been released, the EA servers have gone down for at least 3 hours. Disconnects in the middle of Weekend League/Div Rivals matches are common, and even Squad Battles get disconnected occasionally. The Community management is nonexistent, and any feedback is completely ignored. For example, despite the immense amount of issues with game, all the last update included was 'updates to kits and stadiums.' This update was followed a day later by another one to fix the bugs made by the first one. An example of Ea's horrific management can be seen with the latest set of Icon Swaps (perhaps the only worthwhile inclusion in this year's game.) Despite clearly stating that no Icon would appear twice, they somehow managed to include Peter Schmeichel in two sets. Once they realised THEIR mistake, they removed Schmeichel and did not replace him, despite the fact that it was their mistake. Once again, the players had to pay for it. Ultimate Team is a complete moneygrab, with the same 'meta' players (Eg: Mbappe, Ben Yedder, Griezmann etc.) being recycled for 'new' promos which are 90% the same as last year. The SBCs have never been more expensive, and the 'guaranteed' ones have completely ridiculous drop rates, so the packs are completely biased towards the garbage players. The player SBCs are also almost universally overpriced, and the exclusion of Icon SBCs does not help in the slightest. The game is now completely pay-to-win, as any skill you have will be instantly negated by a combination of your opponent's ridiculously OP 'meta' players (ie.Literally any version of Wissam Ben Yedder), and the abysmal gameplay. There are also very clear indications that the game is scripted. I have bought every fifa since 15, and I can comfortably say that this is the worst one yet, and my last one. My only hope is that EA will be legally obliged to ban ingame transactions (Fifa points), which will force them to actually spend time improving the game itself rather than counting the billions of dollars they make each year, as happened with Star Wars Battlefront 2. The ingame spending (often younger children without their parent's knowlege) is exacerbated by EA's heavy endorsement of Youtubers and streamers who spend thousands of dollars on the game, eg: Castro, bateson etc. Hopefully this review has convinced you to leave Fifa 20 alone and save your hard-earned money for a game that is actually enjoyable to play.
