A Classic PS2 Hack 'n Slash, originally meant for the Dreamcast. The game's soundtrack, gameplay, and level design are great for the time (so do excuse it if it seems a bit dated, going in).
The character designs are somewhat Anime-Esque (but that's to be expected, given the Premise). They're almost akin to "Tokusatsu (a sub-genre of Japanese media involving Power Rangers/ Giant Monsters/ etc).
Gameplay can be challenging, controls are fluid but you need to master them (and the game's combat timing) in order to be proficient. Overall, I recommend this game (informal review).
