It is not Action but adventure movie based on a true life experience. No high tech here, and no special effects either, but down to earth true humans interactions of totally different cultures. What makes this movie so appealing, it portrays human's trials and tribulations without a bogus Hollywood grandiose ending. In life, you just have to accept the sad reality that not every problem has a solution.

Weird & utterly senseless, part of it is historically accurate, but the story is beyond fictional. If only it made some sense, it would have been an OK movie. In short, excellent actors, lousy story.

In the English version, parts 1 & 2 are combined as one movie, sadly with many beautiful details missing. Part 2 is basically the continuation of part one with two powerful Swedish Clans fighting for the throne and a love story with a tragic ending, such is life. In essence, it is all about life's trials and tribulations to prove one's worthiness. If you are looking for a happily ever after movie, I suggest you watch a Disney movie. In the Middle Ages, life was nothing short of series of struggles & tragedies, in that regard, this movie is historically accurate of that era. I have a strong kinship with this movie, so I gave it a deservedly 5 stars, it does stir the emotions of everyone who watch it, I will say no more....

Excellent movie, and quite moving, a must see, I had no idea the Swedes could make such fantastic movies. The irony, the historical events in this movie are correct with no deviations, except, there is no reference that Saladin was saved by a Knight Templar, but then his life was saved many times notably by his worst enemies the Hashashines (the order of assassins). No matter, it is a good movie to experience how people lived in the 12th century both in Europe and the Middle East and governed by religious beliefs and faith, it was a simpler life but bloody brutal.

Picard is too old for this type of fast Sci-Fi action adventure movies, I am afraid this poor old man is going to drop dead before finishing this series. I just hope the Borg assimilate him to rejuvenate him, only then I might give this series an extra star or two, so there.... I got to hand it to the screenwriters, they did a marvelous job, but the scripts were written for a bygone relic, someone at CBS wasn't thinking straight inviting Picard for this series. Ah well....
