So I hadn't read any of the spoilers before playing so went into this game with no preconceptions about how it would be or what would happen.
I actually did like it. Not as good as the first of course, but still a great game. The positives are the gameplay and graphics are a big step up vs the last game. The story is at times great. I think they did a good job of changing my opinion of Abby as the game went on. We end up seeing her and Lev the same way we saw Joel and Ellie, and I think by the end Ellie realised this.
The negatives are similar to what people have been saying. The story at times jumps around too much and can be confusing to keep up with. Constant flashbacks and flash forwards are at times too much and unnecessary. Secondly, the first game did a much much better job of enabling you to empathise with the characters. Not just Joel and Ellie, but all the other characters along the way that died like Tess, Henry and Sam. They made deaths of those characters seem like big points in the game. I didn't feel like I cared for the characters in this game. Maybe because the biggest death in the game came within the first couple of hours and you'd struggle to top that, but also because they just don't develop the new characters enough in this game.
