This may be as close as I'll come to watching a Harlequin film. Iris goes into labour on a beautiful snowy Christmas day. Her partner, young, rich, Dr. Pieter, then asks her in the afterglow of delivery, if she is sure the baby is his. This is his way of moving on - with his girlfriend. Iris struggles with her job, the baby, her dog, her promiscuous friends, and her drinking as she sorts out her life. Will she get back with her husband? Will she hook up with the chef from the reality TV show that she produces? Will she meet another doctor? Will it be the dog walker? Or will she just sort things out as a single mom? See this Rom Com with the girls.

This Italian dark comedy feels like the cameras are circling 2 of groups. A well-to-do doctor, his film director wife, their doctor friend, and their family, and a criminal family. Their paths cross in a minor way that upsets both groups. This is really a study of characters. I had to watch it twice to get some of the meta subtleties. It was a dark and funny story with more of a bump in the road than a climax, but I loved it! Watch for the same predator in the first scene to also appear in the last. #TIFF2020
