Fantastic mash-up of vampire-on-a-plane with terrorists who hijack a plane. What could have been a lame cliche filled bore, it nothing of the sort due to an heartfelt mother and son story at the bloody heart of this excellent thriller.The new netflix thriller Blood Red Sky delivers a vampire-on-a-plane vs terrorists plot that goes from tense to desperate to mind-blowing horror at 30,000 feet. At the center of the maelstrom, we find mother Nadja who is on her way, with young son Elias, to New York for a cure for her "blood disease." Unfortunately for her (and everyone else on board) the hijackers have other plans. Very well done by all, with kudos to German actress Peri Baumeister as the loving mother with a deep dark secret, Carl Anton Koch as her son, and Kais Setti as Farid, a stranger who plays a special role. Alexander Scheer also shines as one of the bad guys who discovers Nadja's secret.
