The Metropolitan Opera Live in HD is a fantastic opportunity for people to see an opera and hopefully build an appreciation for the art. Although I have seen several operas in person over the past 20 years, today for the first time I went to a movie cinema to watch it broadcast live in HD (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess). It was a wonder experience! I was very comfortable relaxing in the theater's DreamLounger recliner and the camera angles made me feel like I was onstage with the performance. I also liked being privy to the backstage interviews during the 30 minute intermission, something I would not have had access to if I had attended the Met Opera in person. I look forward to taking advantage of The Met: Live in HD for future performances!
