I’m a big movie watcher. I don’t like need a psychological drama with “layers” mixed with horror. If I go to see “Inception” I know I have to concentrate to understand the plot. I know it won’t be horror, or funny, but artistic and detailed. If I go to see horror, I want to be scared and understand the movie, even if it’s a stupid plot...don’t read the words from the devil book out loud...don’t buy the creepy house where many have died...don’t stay in the house where furniture moves on it own! Simple.
This movie, in my opinion, was a mess and way too long! The husband, while cute, was useless. The little boy was weird, with, or without, the mask. It was all over the place. Where did the others get the overalls and scissors. If the little girl found the way out, why didn’t others? What was the hands across America deal? Were they killing the others to take their places, or just kill them?
Are we really going to argue about who’s driving, based on how many each person killed?! Why were the others sounding like wild animals when they talked? I could go on and on.
If this is some sort of movie for discussion, you should have let us know ahead of time. Have it in the Sundance Theatre and have a panel discussion afterwards. Otherwise, please stop exercising your ego at my expense.
Some may say, it’s good that people are discussing the movie, that was the point. I’m discussing it out of confusion and frustration. That’s not good. The next time Jordan puts out a movie, I won’t be so anxious to see it. Oh, by the way, I did not like the movie.
