Visuals are stunning. Acting is superb. Costumes have a much appreciated reduction in the amount of absurdly large headgear from the Sci-Fi version.
What was also absent was three major characters: the empress, the emperor, and the baron's other doushy son. Entire scenes were skipped. Definitely going to be a different telling.
