It was watchable with Dr Chris, but the latest team? Hmmm. Not a very exciting mob. Think I caught a re-run yesterday arvo and one of the Shen twins was telling a cat on the bed, 'Now I'm just going to check your ringworms' and threw a blanket at it to stop it from scratching! Maybe they were hoping the cat would wrap itself up in the blanket and lie still? Too much hair twitching and pouting on this show now and not enough vet action. The format has also become very Masterchef, with the commentary done later but in real time, eg the twins about to look at Oscar on the bed then cutting to the studio, with the twins saying to the camera 'We need to treat Oscar's Ringworm right now or else he's going to be very sick.' Oh dear.

You don't have to be a mother to get something out of this movie. The characters were understated and Charlize's performance was excellent. Her wanting to be the best mother she could be, yet grieving for the person she was or thought she was going to be just pulls at the heart strings when you discover the twist. It's all done without cliches and obvious lines. To me, This is really a film about love, surviving change, responsibility, feeling trapped and holding on to your soul.

This movie's got something for everyone-gratuitous violence, gross villains, triumphant heroes, good and evil, black and white, a love story and a prancing horse. Yet again, Tarantino manages to mix blood and guts and torment with the cerebral in a saga with a twist-or a twisted saga? There are a lot of reasons why I keep coming back to this film and one of them is the simple but bloody fairytale ending. Not even Gone With the Wind had that!
