Boring boring and boring! Unnecessary scenes, the director and scriptwriter were out of ideas. Inspired from the book written by an Italian author, with Italian characters and à story that takes place in Italy. The retranscription in the US doesn’t fit at all. The attitude and reaction of the characters are very stereotyped and do not make sens. That’s the american way not the europeen , and it makes the movie very unrealistic and stupid. Suddenly because of a doll , this mother , 20 years later rememorise during her holidays the details of her being overwhelmed with 2 little girls and not being able to cope as she is too busy with herself , ego and well beeing . This obsession triggered by a young mum and small child met on the beach. In the book Leda leaves her family for a few years too, but it is a small part of the book with not much impact on the story and the characters of Leda. No need to do a film about the regrets and guilt of a mum who failed.
