Season 2 started out quite slow and sloppy. The story wasn’t quite as interesting in the first 3 episodes and seemed like a slow burning fuse and not very fluid like season 1.
Overall it just seemed a bit unorganized and almost difficult to watch because it was just dragging along. The environment wasn’t as exciting to see, the overall characters weren’t very interesting and the show lost a lot of it’s mystique that season 1 had.
I’m hoping they don’t plan on giving the show the axe because they said that Altered Carbon is very expensive to produce and I believe that this season reflected a tighter budget because of the limited world and places they filmed.
Anthony Mackie did a great job playing the role of Takeshi Kovacs but it did leave a lot to be desired because he didn’t quite gel with the character somehow. Change is good and bad I guess.
Overall it was probably a 2 out of 4 stars in my opinion, the show started out fantastically and season 2 kind of felt like a drag and hopefully they will order season three and give it a chance to regain the initial appeal the show had with season one.
