This is a hard watch. It's not a bad film overall, as a study of mental illness and psychosis is does a great job, but from a story point of view it starts to really lose its way. Brie, as always, turns out an amazing performance, subtle, realistic and believable, she really can convey emotions at a very empathic level, but as she starts to really get to show off those chops, the story starts to flitter away from her and leave her nowhere to go. I understand that this is meant to show what people go through when dealing with these types of disorders, but from a film point of view, there could have been more development in the last few acts so the viewer could go on and follow the journey too.
