I know it wasn't meant to be comedic, but I find that between the entertainment and just apparent cultural hardships there is plenty of room to laugh. What does hit strongly is that it is truthful in nature, i.e. pressure of family in Indian relationships, "age limits", etc.
Although *spoiler alert* it feels like no one ends up in the right relationship, it does highlight the "new" way of arranging marriages, not the traditional showing up at the mandap or alter. As someone who had not too long ago been pressured to do this kind of arrangement, it is educational to see it happen to a group of people to which I am not connected.
