Shocking programme. I watched as a Parent of a Child with a SEN & hoped it would address some real issues on unmet needs in our Schools. Instead M Gentles said her technique works on every Child! I have never heard a so called Professional profess that they have all the answers. Surely every Child is an individual. It was very clear thst these Children had a SEN which wasn't being addressed. No mention of any assesments done, SENCO ,OT, SLT or Ed Psych assesments. No mention of sensory overload. Just 80's behavioural techniques that don't address root cause of behaviors. No safe space to regulate, removing a Childs break time which helps them regulate. No attempt to help them understand questions even when a Child adked for help. And a dangerous form of restraint which was unnecessary & has caused real harm to Children in the past. What had they done to de-escalate before. A Meltdown is not a choice & could have been stopped if the Childs needs were addressed before. This Women was not & is not an expert in SEN. Many true experts in SEN are shocked & appalled. This was not Inclusive & actually is really damaging as many will assume that The so called Behaviour Expert has a magic wand. When in fact these Children had/have SEN & were being failed by their School & Teachers. Shockingly bias & dangerous programme.
