The gun blazing Americans can even make a air disaster situation to a "bad guys" against American dominance movie and turn it into a killing spree. It's a movie of convenience and coincidence. The plane carrying a convict prisoner losses power and then recovers very conveniently over an island. Then the convict conveniently turns into a good boy killing machine helping the captain eliminating the Filipino bad boys and saves the hostages. Then the plane conveniently recovers as the sub captain flips few switches and they return home. Poor caste, poor storyline, poor acting, Gerard Butler along with whole crew just sleepwalks the whole movie. Better avoid!

Undoubtedly, this movie should be up there amongst the of best of 2021. It's a masterpiece - masterfully written, directed and acted satirical comedy, i think best since "falling down" came out almost 30 years ago. The film shows the perils of modern day nanny state, how mankind has dumbed down to IQ of 5 year olds and divided and manipulated by the political parties, media and the commercial giants, so much so that even at the face of imminent and complete annihilation, we are brainwashed, divided and lead towards commercial gain, and more concerned about our image, tweets and likes in social media. I absolutely LOVED the film from start to end. Its full of razor sharp script, humour and satire and twists all along the way. The biggest one comes exactly midway at 1:11. So, without revealing any more, just go and watch it!

Avoid, unless you have a spare pack of aspirin, as this will definitely give you headache. A movie with no definite plot, storyline or fixed script. Everything appears to shift - the director and plot moves between action, tear jerker, comedy, romance and patriotism randomly with no aim. Appears to be a remake of a South Indian movie - the over the top violence, slow-motion action scenes, cheap slapstick comedy, expensive cars, foreign locations, sexy romantic scenes with wet heroine - all the usual ingredients and hallmarks are there. But the movie fails to deliver any serious patriotic message. Rather is full of big gaping potholes in the script and logical impossible scenarios that after 15 mins any serious movie lover will wonder what the hell is going on and will stop watching in disgust. So, best avoid!

A great survival story and a feast for the eyes, as the film is shot beautifully. Coincidently I saw the film just before our trip to Fuerteventura, so a great sneak peak into the natural beauty and picturesque landscape of the island. The story is told beautifully as it moves from present to flashbacks. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 purely because at times, especially towards the end, it becomes slightly confusing as to what really happens. However the final twist and ending is really really well done. Script, acting, direction, photography, set, location all scores high for me.
