Very gripping. Superbly acted. It shows the silent torment of the women whose babies were taken away from them. The horror just steadily unfolds.

Brilliant, tense and uplifting in turn. A marvellous movie showing great human endurance, courage and cooperation.

A lovely movie. Like others have mentioned - I too liked watching Laurel and Hardy movies on tv in my childhood. Seeing the film, I never lost my belief in the characters Coogan and Reilly created. Their relationship was heartwarming. It also brought me insights as I never realised that Stan Laurel was the driving force in scripting their performances. Very good acting by all in the movie, particularly their wives. It also recreated England and Ireland in the 1950s really well. The movie brought a tear to my eye. It’s a gem!

I enjoyed this movie. Strong female roles and good acting. It’s not historically accurate though the people portrayed did exist - but their actions and characters are exaggerated and embellished. However I think that reflects times at court where the Queen, even if suffering physically and emotionally, had total power. That then leads to others vying for influence and how to become ‘The Favourite’. I found my emotions varying over time in relation to each character. I liked the music. I didn’t find it obtrusive. Plenty to discuss with my friends after the movie!
