I won’t spoil anything, but this is definitely a movie you need to experience in the cinema, not on a tv or laptop. I love when a decent-sized budget does justice to sci-fi films, making them truly impactful. I was on the edge of my seat for almost the entire film. It felt like it had a blend of elements from the other movies in the franchise: the atmosphere of the first Alien movie and the Alien: Isolation game, the intensity of Aliens, the strange vibe of Alien Resurrection, all with a hint of Prometheus.
Overall, this movie was a blast to watch—great jump scares, solid acting, and a no-nonsense buildup made it one of the best films of 2024. I’m docking one star only because it could have been a bit longer preferably with just more nail-biting content, especially with the budget they had and the fact that the cast wasn’t full of big-name stars. But I get that special effects and other factors were likely a challenge. There's one scene that had me cheering—I won’t spoil it, but I think you’ll know which one I’m talking about… keyword: Gravity. It almost felt like they took that concept right out of Visceral's Dead Space!!! Loved it.
Looking forward to more of this franchise. Honestly, the stuff that comes out these days is so unimpressive that you see film makers rebooting old classics and catering it to new generations instead of coming up with something new because they cant beat the golden oldies.
Definitely want to see an Alien VS Predator film in the near future, with Fede Alvarez being part of it.
