We were so excited about this movie, counted the days... and finally the family sat down and tried to watch it. It started so nicely, and then it went super creepy and unnecessarily scary. Our 9years old child asked us to stop, so we did. Total disappointment. Who is the target audience here? For God sake, this is a story about children and mice... so there was no need to make it scary for little children. Hope our little girl will sleep well tonight without nightmares. So the question again: who is this movie for? certainly not from my child

Watching it in 2020 you cannot avoid to recognise it how terribly inappropriate the whole thing is. From from the paedophile wolf to the cheating mother... there are no end of inconsistency in the storyline . During the movie I kept thinking about it who wrote this awful mess. Apart from the brilliant Meryl Streep this movie-musical thing is really embarrassing to watch. and oh it’s so so so painfully long.
