I'm giving a 5 star rating because I can't give a 4.5. I found it almost perfect. I really liked this mini series for it's story and directing, also the horror elements were great. But mostly I was really impressed with the depiction of the characters and their relationships, wound around the trauma each went through in the house. I really appreciate the parallels it draws with real world horrors people suffering from mental disability go through, and how it can poison the world around them. As someone going through a difficult time myself, this show definitely struck a chord with me and helped me find some closure.
Also, the casting is a 5/5. I don't know how the casting can be so perfect. It undoubtedly made the characters more believable and helped making continuity between the child and adult versions of themselves. Clearly, the actors did a wonderful job too, but I really have to give it to the director. Bravo!
