Indian Bollywood sometimes produces such rare gems of a movie and Gauri Shinde's "Dear Zindagi" is one such gem which has a special place in my heart, perhaps for the rhythms and notes of the movie's message and story which rings very close to my life. I don't understand why this movie has ratings lower than it deserves, "but it doesn't matter and it shouldn't matter what the world thinks of you, when you understand yourself" according to the wise words of "Dr. Jehangir Khan". I just wish Indian cinema keeps producing such rare gems sometimes. And I can't help but feel thankful towards this film actually for giving me some closure in my personal life.

I'm giving a 5 star rating because I can't give a 4.5. I found it almost perfect. I really liked this mini series for it's story and directing, also the horror elements were great. But mostly I was really impressed with the depiction of the characters and their relationships, wound around the trauma each went through in the house. I really appreciate the parallels it draws with real world horrors people suffering from mental disability go through, and how it can poison the world around them. As someone going through a difficult time myself, this show definitely struck a chord with me and helped me find some closure. Also, the casting is a 5/5. I don't know how the casting can be so perfect. It undoubtedly made the characters more believable and helped making continuity between the child and adult versions of themselves. Clearly, the actors did a wonderful job too, but I really have to give it to the director. Bravo!
