This book is 'cheap calories'. It is filled with cheap and catchy phrases and personal stories with little relevance. All of these are simply inserted to appeal to the mass reader (probably why it's on a bestseller list). Whilst I don't want to invalidate her life experience, going on for an entire chapter about how she missed her daughter's hockey game really just irked me. Many people are faced with more significant setbacks and hardships and using this example is quite isolating. This is a good book if you drink the corporate cool-aid. If this is you, prepare to 'rumble with vulnerability'`, 'live into [your] values', 'brave trust' and 'learn to rise'. If this assortment of words appeals to you. Then the book is great. If however, these sayings come across as the intellectual equivalent of a Happy Meal, then steer clear.
