I'm sorry I have to disagree with Jess Allen's opinion regarding hockey.
Her generalization of the sport, the supporting families and the kids that play is offensive to many hard working families and not just the privileged. Hockey like any sport develops work ethic, teamwork, confidence, physical activity and to show how to win and lose in sport and life. No sport is without a level of arrogance and displays of poor behavior by some.
Her statement of use the $5000 from hockey to take a trip to learn sounds short sighted and ignorant to sport. Best bang for the buck for $5000.00: Take a 2 week vacation (which can cost more then $5000 for a family of 3) or 6 months at the rink.
Her perspective is curious due to the fact she doesn't watch, play or care about hockey but can condemn a huge section of the population that enjoy the sport. The commentary is uninformed and an apology is required to the hockey community.
