Beautifully crafted, completely grounded story that each one of us can relate to of living in a democracy where your decisions and your decisions are not in your hands. And this film relates this very feeling to three police force personnel of varied backgrounds.
The story telling is gripping, the acting and the cinematography takes you right into Kerala.

This event captivated me and millions others when it happened. And this books telling of the events, behind the scenes stories, individual efforts and accomplishments captivated me as I read this book in record time. The author goes into the right amount of detail to do justice and bring to life the stories of "all thirteen" of those trapped as well as the hundreds who were instrumental in their rescue. What an amazing narration of this incredible human story!

I just completed reading the book Educated, by Tara Westover. What a tale of her life and the struggles she went through to break free from a ultra conservative, survivalist family that was willing to brainwash her and themselves in the name of blind faith and religion.
I also happened to see some of her interviews with Ellen, Bill Gates and it added further context to the memoir she's written.
It is very interesting how an abstract faith in God or religion sometimes overpowers real world, tangible relationships. Good read.
