I felt like this book had two halves. The first, I really enjoyed - the characters were solid and likeable, as a reader I felt as if I was on a journey with them. I loved the twist of how the main characters' experiences switched.
The second half I found a bit more frustrating. New characters seemed incomplete and the miscommunication between the two main characters was painfully unrealistic.
Themes seemed to be added as an after thought - it didn't seem fluent with Marianne's character that she would be so open to the abusive relationships that she appeared to be showing off to Connell.
It was frustrating that the two had such a codependent and unhealthy relationship - and that it was being passed off as romantic.
I know a lot of people loved this book, but it wasn't for me.
