Yes, it's a bit dated and some of the remarks just wouldn't fly in a movie made now... But it is not meant to be taken seriously. Clever humour disguised as slapstick throughout, and Applegate's performance is hilarious and relatable (everyone has that one friend, right?) Definitely worth a watch, even if just to remember how terrible fashion was in the early 2000s.

Halfway though I gave up wanting the main character to have all her bones broken and simply wanted the movie to end because I couldn't take how downright absurd the whole thing was anymore. I sincerely hope the real mafia would have dealt with her more effectively.
