Having respectfully fished the Marquesa's for twenty plus years, I so enjoyed reading this book. So much so, that I re-read it five times. Mr. Cardenas has captured the very essence of the area. As I read, I could hear the birds and smell the salt air. I could feel the turtle grass against my ankles as I walked the flats. I could feel the excitement of seeing tarpon rolling and sharks weaving their way across the flats at high tide. I could feel the sweat running down my back as the heat and humidity increased. If you enjoy being on salt water and have ever wondered what it's like to get away from it all, read this book and enjoy every page.
