Pinocchio, a 2019 fantasy film, is based on the 1883 book The Adventures of Pinocchio by Italian author Carlo Collodi. The fantastical characters with incredible make-up and costumes look like Cirque do Soleil creations. The acting is amazing, especially that of child actor Federico Lelapi as Pinocchio and Roberto Benigni as Geppetto. The primary theme of the importance of telling the truth is universal and especially relevant today. There are other significant themes about the value of family, friends, and work.

This is a classic movie with timeless themes based on true events. The acting is outstanding. The movie is compelling and inspirational. It follows Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist, as he employed and saved more than a thousand mostly Polish-Jewish refugees from the Holocaust during World War II. It features Liam Neeson as Schindler, Ralph Fiennes as SS officer Amon Göth and Ben Kingsley as Schindler's Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern. The music is haunting.

The Brown family arrives at a London train station and discover a talking bear they name Paddington. When they realize he has lost his home, they invite him into theirs. Paddington is sweet but curious and ends up causing humorous chaos. This stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Ben Whishaw, and Nicole Kidman. It is the story of a lovable but naïve bear and his new London family. The film is based on the classic book series by Michael Bond.This heart-felt movie it is full of laugh-out-loud comedy.

This is another wonderful Robert Logan movie with spectacular cinematography and beautiful nature photography. The child actors and tame animals are delightful as usual in many of Logan's movies. Harrowing adventures and narrow escapes are suspenseful as usual.

The Nativity Story that tells the story of the birth and early life of Christ is engaging, compelling, and entertaining. Scripture is referenced and quoted throughout the movie. The dialogue, the plot, turning points are captivating and dramatic. The Nativity Story tells how Jesus Christ as the Messiah came to the world. The acting, production, and cinematography are excellent.

Robert Downey Jr., who plays an amazingly broad range of characters in his movies, again plays a quirky lead character in DOLITTLE. Downey, plays Dr. Dolittle who can talk with animals in this classic tale, rated PG. Robert Downey is joined with a cast of stars who play or voice an array of interesting and lovable characters. In this version of the enduring story, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Robert Downey Jr.), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, has hermitted himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic (CGI) animals for company, after losing his adventurous wife Lily. However, when the young Queen of England falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle sets sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure; regaining his wit and courage in new adventures with old adversaries and new creatures. The doctor is joined on his quest by a young apprentice Stubbins and a raucous team of animal friends. The epic adventure also includes Antonio Banderas as pirate King Rassouli. Writer Gaghan says, “…Dolittle is a superhero whose super power is listening…The reason that he can communicate with all these creatures is that he has this core of deep empathy…Every creature has something to say…” During the current pandemic, DOLITTLE, is available on streaming and provides a delightful reprieve from our current world crisis while encouraging currently much needed empathy.

This is a charming family movie with wonderful cinematography and delightful, musical Irish dialects. It is an endearing film about heart-felt connection between family, friends, and animals. The Celtic storytelling and music is delightful.

This is interesting history. It is an overview of the whole Lewis and Clark team with good cinematography and nature photography. It is from the point of view of Sacagawea. The self-sufficiency of those on the Lewis and Clark team is amazing. This documentary is inspiring and heart-warming.
