Despite starting quite strong with potential to be one of the best horror movies of the year, after the 40-minute mark, it jumps right off a cliff. It tries to be like Pulp Fiction with interconnected characters, but the truth is, these characters have no intersection that would be relevant to the story at all. Background information on characters that, quite honestly, don't matter and are irrelevant. So much exposition is crammed down your throat about the things that don't even matter. Yet one big, big question remains, and that is, how exactly does keeping all these kids in your basement make you healthy again? For some reason, these characters have terrifying dream sequences at the start of the movie that don't even amount to anything. The ending for some reason switches into comedy for some reason and is cringe and the stuff a toddler would laugh at. The villain is utterly disappointing the second you see her, and by that time, I was wishing that I had stayed home and hoping this would end quickly.
