As much as I love the halo franchise I have to admit this campaign is pretty dissapointing (for me any way). POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD.
At the end of halo 5 cortana runs off and master chief ends up with halsey and locke. Leading you to think that halo infinite will cumulate the story of the forerunners and the prometheans while allowing you to face cortana ending her reign.
But that is stolen from you. You enter infinite without cortana or the prometheans being there in fact you don't face any prometheans at all, instead you are facing off against the banished which are just the covenant in red clothing, you don't even get to finish off Atriox, in fact the whole story of infinite robs you of any resolution and focuses on a new gameplay style and it effectively trys to reboot the series.
At its core Halo infinites small restricted overworld successfully adheres to the reboot idea however the dissapointing story and the oversight of tying off loose ends from the previous chapter leaves a bad taste in your mouth, the ending of infinite feels unfulfilling, rushed, and leaves too many questions such as who are the endless and why the heck didn't we get to see them.
The game plays great though, the graphics and sound are beautiful but the campaign feels incomplete.
I'd give halo infinite a 7/10.
